Message | No. Democracy is the rule of the people. The more people a prefecture has, the more influence it should have. |

Message | no each vote should be worth as close to each other as they can be. The system we have in place is the best for this purpose. |

Message | Real democracy doesn't work for a population of 57 million spread across a huge geographical area anyway. Real democracy has to take place on the local and prefectural level. And we really aren't too sure about entire prefectures, either. Higher levels of political organization should be organized to be a coming together of autonomous democratic communities acting as equals. The existence of this equality between communities is not dependent on how many babies people have. |
Date | 23:52:21, November 17, 2005 CET | From | Unio enim si quis Motus Populi | To | Debating the Demands of the Revolution (Prefecture Representation) |
Message | It's disproportional democracy, and we won't support. What this is saying is that the, for example, the votes of 5 farmers in Podunk, Lirnak have more weight than the votes of 50 Businessmen in Kasaema, Pilgon (not saying this is correct math, but can be looked at as a very accurate example.) |

Message | Conversely, the 50 businessmen shouldn't be able to tell the 5 farmers what to do just because they outnumber them. Democracy requires equality between democratic communities, even when those communities differ in size. Mass democracy across a wide geographical area merely becomes an exercise in counting hands to find out who is bigger and stronger, instead of the old method of just fighting it out. We must keep democracy down as close to a face-to-face level as we can, and grant such democracy priority over mass hand counts. |

Message | "Conversely, the 50 businessmen shouldn't be able to tell the 5 farmers what to do just because they outnumber them" If I'm not mistaken, in Democracy, majority rules. This proposal is an afront to Democracy. |

Message | If that is Democracy, then we oppose Democracy. In it's place we demand freedom, equality, and egalitarian political relations. |

Message | The speaker from National Solidarity is quite correct. We oppose this. |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
