This bill shall establish the way the Archbishop of Telamon is chosen. It shall also formally instate the Archbishop of Telamon as Head of State of the Archbishopric of Telamon. If at any time the Archbishop of Telamon ceases to be Head of State, that does not affect the way he is chosen. The Head of State of Telamon I. The Archbishop of Telamon is at the same time, and as long as he remains Archbishop of Telamon, head of the secular state of Telamon. The Archbishop of Telamon II. The Bishop of Telapolis is at the same time, and as long as he remains Bishop of Telapolis, Archbishop of Telamon. The Appointment of the Bishop of Telapolis III. a) In his wisdom and grace, Archpope Glûzz I. does not appoint the Bishop of Telapolis himself, but leaves the choice of the Bishop to his children. III. b) Therefore, the Bishop of Telapolis is to be chosen by the people of Migadon among the Khânian clergy of Telapolis. Any male person with a rank of at least Deacon of Shuzzag-Khân is eligible. A decision by a simple majority of the people suffices for the choice to be made. III. c) The choice of the people will not be questioned by the Archpope, as long as the Bishop to be is not known to be insane or a heretic. III. d) The Bishop of Telapolis is chosen for life. |

Message | This is what this bill will do: All parties enter "." as the name of their candidate for Head of State. Then, we change the title to "His Most Reverend Eminence, Archbishop X of Telamon" (X being the actual name of the guy). The party (/-ies) with the most votes in Migadon in the last election proposes a candidate (best done in a bill), tells us a little bit about hime (like his views, or his age) and lets him die off before he reaches an age of 100 or more. Then we make a bill changing the title of the archbishop. This happens any time he dies. I know that it's a bit complicated, but it's a lot more fun than having an archbishop that's elected by the nation, which would be kind of weird. |
