MessageWhy should we be blocking people from a little fun? I do no see why fireworks should be prohibited for the sale to anyone. I know the PC do-gooders use the excuse that people will use it for crime. But you know what? Then we may as well ban the sale of knives, cricket bats and gold clubs while we're at it. I think it is just stupid to restrict the sale of fireworks to a small group of people as if they can be trusted ahead of the rest of society. If some idiot wants to but fireworks for crime, it is totally up to them, but they'll know that the full force of the police will be after them and we do not have to keep the majority out who are doing the right thing just because of a minority of idiots.

MessageWe disagree, professionals are exactly that, professionals. They know how to handle large caliber fireworks, the general public does not.

Large fireworks are potentially dangerous in the hands of unexperienced people, and so they should be prohibited. If you want to use them, learn how to first, and then you can. Why don't we give cars to everyone then? Just because some idiots that don't know how to drive will probably run over others it doesn't mean we should request a driver's license for all drivers!

It's the same thing here. Want to use large fireworks? No one stops you, but you have to have a licensed.

MessageDriving is an entirely different thing altogether. I mean you wouldn't put a 5 year old behind the wheel for sure, but it is not that hard (under parental supervision of course) for a 5 year old just to launch a simple firework.
