Message | "Bill concerning Welfare".... i.e. removing much of it because those who work hard should not have to pay for the lazy bums who don't. |

Message | OOC: I am much closer to your party than mine, IRL. I am fully in support of single-payer universal healthcare and welfare programs. State-subsidized housing and basic needs for low income families as well as a Basic Income (Negative Income Tax that is very progressive). I also support the land-value tax to counteract the deleterious effect of land rents. I see the eventual end of human politics when we create an artificial intelligence smarter than we are and begin to automate all manufacturing processes. I believe this will also end the previous necessity of governance, which will result a classless, stateless society. Our ends are the same, our means are slightly different. I consider myself a Georgist Left-Libertarian or Libertarian Socialist. In the past, I was a conservative and my family still is rather conservative.... hence, why I am so well-versed in the conservative propaganda and talking points. |

Message | IC: CFP, welfare, and socialist policies in general, is a disincentive for individuals to work for themselves. If you give an individual payouts for merely existing then why should that individual work? Welfare creates more problems than it solves. OOC: See above. I just can't stomach the way welfare is run in the UK. I don't believe welfare is always a bad thing but it really makes me wonder why I bother studying damn hard to get the best grades I can when my college is full of people who just don't care about learning and are there solely to get EMA payments. That and the fact that when teenage girls get pregnant (which is their own damn fault) the state lets them skip the humungous social housing queue and throws every benefit it can at them. And who pays for all this? That's right, those who have done exactly the same thing I'm doing now and who have studied hard, earned a degree and dared get a good wage (which is taxed at 50%). Like I said, welfare is not inherently bad if used properly. But it isn't. |
