Message | The nationalization of our energy and telecommunications industries is unacceptable. This bill will not have the support of the PNCA. |
Date | 04:25:16, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian Royalist Party | To | Debating the Energy and Telephone Act |
Message | The PRP sees the nationalisation of the provision of energy and telephonic communication as a means of promoting economic growth in other industries. Lesser profits being made on basic utilities leads to less expenses for other businesses and for the consumer. |
Date | 05:46:22, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian National Conservative Alliance | To | Debating the Energy and Telephone Act |
Message | The PRP's reasoning is faulty. A government monopoly on utilities would eventually lead to increased costs, while competition between private utility companies would drive down costs. Simple economics. |
Date | 05:50:30, April 04, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian Royalist Party | To | Debating the Energy and Telephone Act |
Message | The government is only providing the utilities, private companies are producing much of the electricity and managing the infrastructure for energy and telephonics. It is not entirely a matter of costs but also of the quality of living of the workers. The competition would cause the employees to pay for the decreased costs and would cause the employees to have less spending money and a lower quality of life. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
