Details

Submitted by[?]: Eredian Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3108

Description[?]:

With the country facing an all out civil war, the Eredian Party, National Front, and Crimson Eagles placed partisan politics aside to defeat the traitorous cowards who threatened Rutania's citizens. This legislative body recognizes and commends the three parties and their leaders for forming a coalition to defend and maintain the unity of the nation. The bravery and commitment to freedom these groups possess within their ranks is a serious asset to the Republic of Rutania and its noble citizens.

MessageMr Speaker,

If the Eredian Party is serious about forming a coalition with the National Party, and I hope the Crimson Eagles will be in agreement with the National Front on this issue, it should respect the etiquette of the National Assembly and give time for their most recently proposed bills to be discussed. There are suggestions the National Front and all parties can make to them, especially the Shrinking Government Act which has a total of five articles, and is a rather mixed bag in terms of the effects on Rutania.

Furthermore, the Eredian Party should seek to engage with the National Front and Crimson Eagles, and come to an agreement on coherent coalition government policies before seeking to have the coalition validated by the National Assembly. The Eredian Party chooses to follow its own unilateral agenda, which is in its right under normal circumstances, but in the context of a coalition government in a time of national emergency this is not appropriate.

Until a coalition respecting the opinions of the National Front and the Crimson Eagles if they would permit me to speak on their behalf on this issue, the National Front shall not support this government.

Lord Huddersfield,
National Front Chairman & Parliamentarian

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "Democracy is in peril." - Ralph Nader (referring to turnout in the 1996 US presidential election)
