MessageI'm going to give a not vote due to article 2. It never is "I don't care what you are" it's "You can talk about what you did in bed last night, as long as it's with a woman." The policy is discrimination that tries to not look like discrimination. If there are people in our military who can tolerate explosions, gunshots, flamethrowers, and all sorts of other creative life ending implements, I don't see why or how they would be demoralized by what a fellow soldier chooses to sleep with.

MessageThe PUC is supportive of this legislation. Charter Schools are an effective compromise between public education and private ingenuity.

The PUC feels that A "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" work policy within the armed forces is as much about protecting homosexuals from unnecessary violence and harassment within the Armed Forces as it is about maintaining a professional and reliable military in which our soldiers can place absolute trust in one another without any doubt or unwanted complications.

MessageSocialist Acţiune cannot support this legislation.

Why would we regress on the issue of homosexuality in the military? The progressive nature of the military's integration policy has been a shining, successful exemplar of sexuality equality in New Endralon. We concur with the MMP. The attempt to portray 'don't ask don't tell' as some kind of neutral, non-discriminatory policy is nonsense.

MessageDon't Ask, Don't Tell is a policy created in an effort to promote professionalism in one of the worlds most unique working environments. Explain to me what would happen to homosexuals attempting to serve their country if the current policy were held? They would be harassed to the point of dishonorable discharge. The fact is is that homosexuals remain a tiny percentage of the population, and concerns over a fellow soldiers sexuality have no place on the battlefield. A military without Don't Ask, Don't Tell is a military in chaos.

MessageSo the Israeli army is in chaos because it allows gay people to openly serve?
So too must be the armies of the European Union member states, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Russia, to name just a few other countries that allow homosexual and lesbian service people to serve.

This is archaic moralism dressed up as a debate about defence. We will not fall for it and we will not support the erosion of equality.

MessageThese military's are not exactly considered the best in the world. That title belongs to the United States, who has the most professional fighting force in the real world and has yet to implement the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. We will not bicker with your party regarding this issue. Our vote is yes.

Random quote: "The first step in freeing yourself from social restrictions is the realization that there is no such thing as a 'safe' code of conduct, one that would earn everyone's approval. Your actions can always be condemned by someone, for being too bold or too apathetic, for being too conformist or too nonconformist, for being too liberal or too conservative. So it's necessary to decide whose approval is important to you." - Harry Browne
