Bill: Minimum Income Bill -2143-

Details

Submitted by[?]: Capitalizt Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2143

Description[?]:

The principle of the Minimum Income Bill isn't giving money just because we are all generous and kind. We ain't. Or well, I am not.
Its principle is lettling people with no familiar economical support live while he finds a suitable job, but not forever.
One year and a half to seek for a job should be enough for all, extendable to three years in low developed zones. Don't let lazy people rely on the system.
However, people who can't afford to get a job for psychical or physical problems are exent from the time limit and are benefited with a special pension. They are the only justified.

MessageCompared to my precedent bill, time limit has been extended by 50%, and by 300% for low developed zones where finding a job is not an... easy job.

MessageIf a healthy adult is capable of working, and refuses because the government pays his bills, then they deserve no subsistence. But this is a fair bill.

MessageI know, but since it is not possible to read citizens' minds (well, finding out the lazy adults in a 50.047.053 population would lead to the biggest nonsensed government waste of money), the time limit urges them to find a job.

Actual policy:
- They don't find a job: They can live
- They find a job: They can live (better)

Proposed policy:
- They don't find a job: They live for 1 and a half year, THEN they
a) Live with charity OR
b) Die starving
- They find a job: They can live

MessageDoesn't work that way though. To use myself as an example, it took me two years to find work. That wasn't through lack of trying nor through lack of qualifications or experience, but it still took me two years to find work.
What your bill does is say that "whether you can find work or not, if you go over 1 1/2 years without finding work then you get no money to survive".
We would also point out that they only receive an income if there is noone who is capable of supporting them, so the cost to the Government isn't as high as you might believe it to be.

MessageIf you wish to remove benefits from those not in work we would recommend it were actually for those who are not in work and not searching for it. This would encourage people to get into work whilst letting those who are trying to be able to survive if they have to wait longer than the year and a half.

MessageHmm.
If ever the law reverts back to its original state, I'll think about it in a future version.
