Bill: Freedom of Foreign Investors Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Avanti Istalia!
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3119
Description[?]:
Nationalism must play a secondary role when it comes to such fields. If foreign investors hold a majority share of a company, that is no different than national investors - they're merely playing by market rules. This distinction is totally unnecessary and harmful to free market and globalization. |

Date | 22:28:13, May 10, 2011 CET | From | Avanti Istalia! | To | Debating the Freedom of Foreign Investors Act |
Message | Then we must learn new ways to compete. This kind of protectionism can only weaken our competitiveness as we are lulled into our false sense of security guaranteed by this irrational defense of national assets. |
Date | 22:49:33, May 10, 2011 CET | From | Quanzar Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Freedom of Foreign Investors Act |
Message | I am afraid the jobs of our citizens must come before jobs for foreigners. Every citizen has the right to a job and the outsourcing of jobs abroad is no good for our citizens or our own economy. Our nation needs companies that our citizens have an investment in. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
