Bill: Economic Reform Act 3

Details

Submitted by[?]: Quanzar Nationalist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3120

Description[?]:

The QNP remains shocked at the defecit and its eventual implications. We propose these measures to begin defecit reduction.

Note: Art. 1. The Sales Tax increase is only slight and remains far below the base rate set by other nations. (Republic of Keymon currently uses a rate of 8%. Also 25 is 2.5% for some reason when selecting an increase rate)

Art 3. It is time we joined the ranks of many other nations in regulating our stock exchanges.

Art. 4. We believe a very small increase from 40 to 41 is temporarily needed to reduce the defecit.
We would aim to repeal Art. 4 after a period of time.

These reforms remain open to discussion and we look forward to cross party input.

MessageWe believe adding more taxes won't reform the economy into what needs to happen. QNP has to look beyond the deficit.

MessageWe understand this would not be a total reform. However we believe that this would be beneficial over a short period of time. We would undoubtedly repeal Art 1 & 4 after a period of time. We would point out that even with these small rises our nation would still be taxing less than half of the other nations in this world.

MessageWe are against Artt 2 and 3. We will support a small tax raise for a short period, however the sharp rise in sales tax is excessive.

OOC - I know it doesn't take into account decimal numbers. I suggest you put it at 3%.

MessageWould the removal of Art. 1 make this bill more palatable? We do believe a tax rise must fall somewhere. Luxury goods could take the brunt of this. However again we must stress when compared to other nations even upon an increase we would still have some of the lowest tax rates.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
