Bill: Corporate Tax Increase Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party of Kalistan (SPoK)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3126

Description[?]:

Those who operate under Socialist Cooperatives, established under the Alternative Economic program, which represents more than 30% of Kalistan's economy, demand the right to begin paying taxes for the support of this Republic.

A moderate corporate tax will help balance the budget and will allow the Government to expand services without going into debt. It is time for ideological established austerity to end and it is time for businesses to resume paying for the privilege to operate in Kalistan.

MessageThis will break our economy. Why would you tax employers?

MessageBecause they are enjoying the privileges of earning profit off of our fair citizens. It's time they give a little back in a way that their own interests are not furthered. This will improve the economy by providing an additional source of revenue. A 3% tax is nothing compared to the massive profits they are making currently.

But let me switch this up: Why would you tax wage earners but not employers? With this tax you could continue to lower individual rates without increasing the deficit.
