Message | Rt Hon Viscount Townsend MP, Leader of the Opposition, Mr Speaker, firstly i would like to announce how pleased i am to be announced as the successor to Duke Quinlan. We wish him well in his new found retirement away from this hectic House. I am sure we can look back at his most notable achievements with pride and i am sure the Hutorian people thank him for moving this state out of the hands of a ruthless totalitarian HNP government. Mr Speaker, we ask the Prime Minister what the new role of the King will be regarding religion now? Seeing as he has been effectivley kicked off his position! I believe this Bill will divide the Hutorian people. Into believers and non-believers and the new government has started off by interfering with the issue the Hutorian people regard as extremely important! This seems reckless and unneccessary. Perhaps they could inform the House what they actually hope to achieve? |

Message | Rt Hon George Norton MP, Prime Minister, Mr Speaker, I share the Rt Hon Gentleman's sentiment's about the former Prime Minister. I hope he has a peaceful retirement after the great things he achieved in Government. I also would like to pay tribute to the Leader of the Opposition, who fought a tough election campaign. Mr Speaker, there are many reason's that we now find ourselves on this side of the chamber. I strongly believe that one of those reasons is our opposition to the last government's endorsement of one religion over another. The King is the head of the Hutori Church, yes, and long may he continue in that role. What we have done in proposing this granting all religions equal status. On the same note, non-religious people now longer feel that their government is backing religion, when they don't believe it. |
