Bill: Choice in Worship Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Liberal Movement

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3129

Description[?]:

It makes absolutely no sense for Deltarians to be forced into religious institutions, especially if they do not hold any personal belief in said religion (it would be a sham and a disgrace to both the individual and the religion).

People should be free to make a choice in regards to religion and the government should not interfere in or influence that choice in any way.

MessageThis is a direct attack on our ancestral religion. Why does the government hate this country's history?

Message"It is more of an insult to any religion to force people to worship while they are not true believers. There are no winners in that situation - and it most certainly does not do respect or dignity to any men nor their gods. This proposal is in no way abolishing religion in Deltaria, but rather recognizing the freedom to choose what they worship and how they perform said worship. So in return, the Liberal Conservatives must ask, why does the Partijia Faction fear the liberty of their nationals?"

MessageThe freedom of expression and religion is the foundation of democracy. Forcing small churches, which recognize other values, is not correct. But between the Churches must be respect and peace.

MessageWe fear the repression of eternal Deltaria. the Terran Unionists have done enough to destroy our identity, now the Liberals are going down the same route. Besides, there can only be one true religion.

Message"That may be so, there may be one true religion, there may be a dozen, and there may be none. We are not destroying Deltarian identity - we are merely making sure that whatever that identity is, it is not a falsehood brought on by the forced compliance of people by their government."

MessageNo, there is one true faith. We do not wish to push people towards eternal damnation, and make maximum effort to encourage them to go the right way. If they choose the wrong faith that is there own fault, but to make it easier to go the wrong way is to do the Devils work for him.

Message"Simply choosing a faith because one is told is no way to achieve salvation of any form. It is only through a personal journey and true committal that one should be able to achieve such things - not just because they say a few fancy words. We have to give people the ability to make that journey so that what they feel and believe is real and applicable, no matter what it may entail."
