MessageOutlawing alcohol for youngsters actually encourages their uptake of the substance. I provide the following generalisation:

Europe: many places children and taught to drink wine from a young age. They grow up drinking socially.
UK: Drinking age is 18 and poorly enforced. Kids become street-corner binge drinkers and beat folk up and
USA: Drinking age is 21 and strongly-ish enforced. "Give me a six-pack and a funnel".
