MessageThe government is proud to release our new budget. For far too long has this country been spending beyond its means, the current bloated budget has been cut in half. Science, Defense, and Education all saw rises in their spending however.

After much discussion, we have decided to dissolve the ministry of Environment and Tourism. The current government feels that the environment is at the bottom of the 'To-Do' list and local governments can fund tourism programs for themselves. We have been able to take that 12.5 billion and invest in Education and Science. Though we still have a majority, we hope the FP joins us and we can pass this with 100% of the vote.

MessageThere's only one word suitable enough to describe the affects of this bill's passage: devastating. Not only has the GCP shown careless disregard for the pristine beauty of Gaduridos' nature, they have displayed a reckless unconcern for the millions of citizens who will lose their jobs due to budget cuts. The ministry of Environment and Tourism has long been an effective boon to our economy; bringing in billions in revenue while protecting the natural beauty of our nation. By dismantling this vital segment of our government, the GCP has essentially stuck a knife in the heart of our economic vitality.

This coupled with overreaching cuts to the ministries of Finance and Health and Social Services will ultimately damage the livelihoods of our people as necessary programs to stave off poverty and abuse are eliminated. The GCP has boasted about how "proud" they are of their new budget proposal, but I ask its members to tell that to the retirees who will lose their benefits due to these budget cuts. Tell that to the impoverished children who will lose access to affordable healthcare when free clinics close their doors and funding for their insurance dries up. Then tell that to the hardworking citizens who's sole source of income are the tourists who flood this nation every year due to the effective advertising of our ministry of Environment and Tourism. And finally when you're finished, go and tell how proud you are to the families of this nation who will face a devastating recession due to the destruction of our Ministry of Finance.

The GCP can be as proud as they want of their decision to sink this nation into economic ruin, but the people of this nation will be the ones who will ultimately pay the price. Enough is enough.

MessageWith all due respect Senator Matheson, that was a great speech but the content was what I would except a child to say who knows nothing of economics. Gaduridos has been spending itself to hell these last two decades, borrowing more than needed and putting the country's credit rating at stake. The trillions and billions being poured needlessly into the government has been wasted. We must control spending too ensure we don't default on our debt and end up as a third-world country.

With this new budget, we are giving local governments more power to control their own ecology. Some may even devout more money to protect these precious landmarks. This government is concerned with protecting the people of Gaduridos from the Pontesians. Perhaps if we get invaded, you can explain to the devasted cities why you thought the national government should spend more on trees than defense.

I understand your position on Heath and Human Services, and we may increase spending to this area if the people truly need it. If too much money is available in social security, then people who do not need will take just because it is there. We must end the abuse and make sure the money is available to those who truly need it.

And the decrease in funding to the Finance Ministry need hardly explaining. They have the latest software and computers, no need to pour funds in what should be a small ministry to begin with. We stand by this legislation as very important for Gaduridos.

MessageBy comparison, our neighbors the Republic of Baltusia spend 75 million on Health and Human Services. And the Turkali spend 750 million on Health and Human Services

MessageWith all due respect Mr. Commissioner-General, it doesn't take a child to understand that when you cut funding for programs that create jobs and prop up our economy, you put the well-being of our citizens at risk. It also doesn't take a child to realize that when we spend billions on planes that won't fly, billions on tanks that won't fire, and billions on systems that don't work, it's an unfair deal for the people of this nation. If you want to talk about bloated budgets and wasteful spending, you need look no further than the Ministry of Defense. This nation has allocated billions to failed experimental weaponry, an unnecessary build up of our arsenal, and an unprecedented budget for a non-wartime era. How can one claim to want to "control spending" but then turn around and allocate hundreds of billions more into our already overzealous defense budget?

The Freedom Party understands that this nation faces grave threats and they must be addressed. However, if you want to compare our HHS spending with neighboring nations, why not compare our defense budget with the only emerging threat we currently face: Pontesia. We currently devote 1.5 trillion dollars to our military might, while they allocate a mere 300 billion. We are spending five times more than our only existing enemy, and you want to pour more into our swollen military-industrial complex? Sir, what you're asking for is overkill. The fact of the matter is: the Pontesian army already fails to stand a chance against our military men and women; why spend even more money than we have to? If anything we can spare a few billion if it means protecting other vital services provided by our government.

And you "may increase spending if people truly need it"? Sir, there are millions of citizens who are desperately in need of this funding right now. Men, women, and children who are struggling to survive in a government ruled by a party which puts corporate profits before the well-being of our people. Our social security program is designed in the model of all modernized countries: it pays for itself. It's humorous to note that you have criticized my understanding of economics, when you clearly have no understanding of how this vital system functions. You cannot cut funding for this entitlement program because the people of this nation have paid into it with their payroll taxes. It is a separate entity outside of the general revenue budget and cannot contribute to the deficit because it is a "pay as you go" system. It is fully funded and supported by a special tax created solely to keep the program functioning. No sir, what you are truly endangering by cutting HHS funding are the medical insurance programs, affordable healthcare, and the senior benefits our citizens deserve.

And again you have shown a clear lack of understanding of how our government operates with you statements on the Ministry of Finance. They do more than sit at computers and run software. They are the watchdogs of our stock markets, they are the guardians of our financial systems, and they are the only thing keeping corporate greed from dominating this nation. These cuts will eliminate thousands of necessary jobs and remove financial protections which have been in place for decades.

This budget is a disaster and I hope the people of this nation understand that fact in the next election.

MessageAgain, great sound bites for your campaign. And well, we kinda took care of the whole financial protection thing by unregulating pretty much about everything. Which is why we decided to reduce Finance funding so much. Though we clearly have different theories on how our economy should run, I have ordered Finance Minister Mark Harvey to conduct a Budget Summit in the near future with the GCP top Federal Senate leaders and the FPs top Federal Senate leaders.

But let me state a clear goal of this government: That the private sector should be providing the majority of employment in Gaduridos, a true sign of a dominate economy. And that is our number one focus.
