Message | Mr Speaker, We advise the DLP to consult the Paramilitary and Militia Act of 3082. While it is absolutely correct that unrestrained use of paramilitaries may be extremely dangerous, the reality is evry different. The Imperial Office of Domestic Security, made of trusted men appointed by His Majesty, strictly regulates paramilitaries and army order their immediate dissolution without giving any specific reason. It is also important to note that aristocrats have a most ancient and feudal right to maintain a host and the maintenance of such hosts may be very effective. For example: there is currently a communist uprising in the allied state of Narikaton, however, due to political circumstances, we were not able to assist the Narikatonites directly. However, the Duke of Utagia, under orders from the Emperor, sent his military host to fight the rebels as an expression of Luthorian support. The aristocracy is bound by oath to support and in fact, during the failed September Revolution, the aristocratic militias were (with the religious militias) some of the most fervent supporters of the Emperor, defending Him against the socialist onslaught. While we understand the sentiments behind this bill, it would be a grave error to ban paramilitaries which have often served to in fact defend the Empire. I yield. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We reject the argument as expressed by the party opposite. It is wrong for the government to condone some types of violence in an attempt to curb other types of violence. We trust that others will agree with us that this is nothing more than blatant hypocrisy. I yield |

Message | Mr Speaker, It is not a question of violence, it is the question that aristocrats have a sacred and ancient feudal right to maintain men-at-arms. The absolute and unrestricted right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Common Bill of Rights, so is the right to assembly, a paramilitary is just an assembly of men-at-arms therefore it is our opinion that banning paramilitaries would also be a breach of the Constitution. I yield. |

Message | Mr Speaker, We feel that the CIL is using a smokescreen of the Constitution to defend the indefensible. We feel that the existence of organised militia is potentially destabilising and can threaten the Emporer if circumstances allow. I yield. |
