| Henceforth, 1. Every able bodied male subject of His Majesty is required to serve no less than two years in the Holy Imperial Military upon completion of schooling. 2. Ethnic Luthorians, Hulstrians, Mordusians and Aldurians are to serve in the main branches of the military. All those of other ethnicities are to serve in the Colonial Army. 3. The Holy Imperial Military shall maintain a pool of conscripts to serve as reservists. Those who are selected for reserve duty are for all intents and purposes soldiers of the Empire and are to obey military law and the orders of their superiors. |

| Message | Mr Speaker, We in the DLP feel that if this bill is to fully enforced and enforceable, then an amendment needs to made to allow women to serve in the military, given that the wording of the legislation, if passed, makes a requirement for all ADULTS to serve in the armed forced on completion of their education. If this amendment is made, then we shall fully support this bill. I yield. |

| Message | Mr Speaker We have amended the bill to include the participation of women in the military. The CIL has long resisted this policy issue but we have now come to the conclusion that if e interests of the realm can be served elsewhere by our support for this policy, we shall also support it. Women and men shall serve in segregated units. This is not at all out of a sexist spirit but to assure that no excessive "fraternization" that may disrupt combat efficiency occurs. I yield. |
