The Treaty of Kiduran

The governments of the Republic of Hobrazia and the Imperial Commonwealth of Luthori, desirous of strengthening the cause of peace and cooperation between their states have agreed as follows:

Article 1

Both signatories shall refrain from any act of violence, any aggressive action, and any attack on each other, either individually or jointly with other powers.

Article 2

Should one of the parties become the object of belligerent action by a third power, the other shall in no manner lend its support to this third power.

Article 3

The Governments of the two signatory states shall consult together and exchange information on problems affecting their common interests.

Article 4

Neither of the two signatories shall participate in any grouping of powers whatsoever that is directly or indirectly aimed at the other party.

Article 5

Should disputes or conflicts arise between the signatories over problems of one kind or another, both parties shall settle these disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that peace and security are not endangered.

Article 6

The signatory parties agree that the common defence of their respective territories from outside aggression is vital to peace and stability of the region. The signatories agree to use all the military forces that are available, including land, naval, and air forces to come to the defence of each other during an act of aggression against either party or its territories by a foreign power.

Article 7

The present treaty shall be presented for ratification by the governments of the signatory states to their respective legislatures within the shortest possible time. Each party shall notify the other of the outcome of the ratification vote. The agreement shall enter into force as soon as it is ratified by both governments.

MessageActually, due to a change of government the Selucians are out of the picture for now. I have negotiated the following updated terms. The term 'nations' in art 6 may be updated to account for our Imperial structure (we are after all 5 nations, not one).

MessageSince it is our policy to use nuclear force to save the lives of our servicemen, we may have to cross the nuclear threshold if our conventional forces are drawn into a situation they cannot win. It would be inappropriate in my opinion, however, to offer our nuclear forces directly to protect a third party, who may unilaterally disarm at any time making the deal one-sided.

MessageWe need to worry less about every other nation, and more on buffing our means to defend ourselves. IE:More weapon research and development.

The more resources we spend on protecting others, is less we have to spend on ourselves.
