Message | Actually, due to a change of government the Selucians are out of the picture for now. I have negotiated the following updated terms. The term 'nations' in art 6 may be updated to account for our Imperial structure (we are after all 5 nations, not one). Treaty of Mutual Defence Between the Republic of Hobrazia and the Imperial Commonwealth of Luthori The Government of the Republic of Hobrazia and the Imperial Commonwealth of Luthori, desirous of strengthening the cause of peace and cooperation between their nations have agreed as follows: Article 1 Both signatory nations shall refrain from any act of violence, any aggressive action, and any attack on each other, either individually or jointly with other powers. Article 2 Should one of the signatory nations become the object of belligerent action by a third power, the other signatory nation shall in no manner lend its support to this third power. Article 3 The Governments of the two signatory nations shall consult together and exchange information on problems affecting their common interests. Article 4 Neither of the two signatory nations shall participate in any grouping of powers whatsoever that is directly or indirectly aimed at the other party. Article 5 Should disputes or conflicts arise between the signatory nations over problems of one kind or another, both parties shall settle these disputes by peaceful means in such a manner that peace and security are not endangered. Article 6 The signatory parties agree that the common defence of their nations from outside agression is vital to peace and stability of the region . The governments of the signatory nations agree to use all the military forces that are available, including land, naval, and air forces to come to the defence of each others nation during an act of agression against either nation by a foreign power. Article 7 The present treaty shall be presented for ratification by the Governments of the signatory nations to their respective Legislatures within the shortest possible time. Each signatory nation shall notify the other of the outcome of the ratification vote. The agreement shall enter into force as soon as it is ratified by both signatory nations . |

Message | Fine by me, although I am glad to see that WMDs are not to be used to defend our nations. |

Message | Since it is our policy to use nuclear force to save the lives of our servicemen, we may have to cross the nuclear threshold if our conventional forces are drawn into a situation they cannot win. It would be inappropriate in my opinion, however, to offer our nuclear forces directly to protect a third party, who may unilaterally disarm at any time making the deal one-sided. |

Message | Nuclear weapons with a first strike capability. That's the best treaty we could sign. You know it makes sense. |

Message | We need to worry less about every other nation, and more on buffing our means to defend ourselves. IE:More weapon research and development. The more resources we spend on protecting others, is less we have to spend on ourselves. |
