Bill: Political Correctness Bill of 3163

Details

Submitted by[?]: Progressive Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 3166

Description[?]:

"Some of you may remember our similar proposal, the Political Correctness Bill of 3145. This bill has the same purpose as that one, the Progressive Party still feels that Chairman of the Republic is a sexist title and should be eliminated. We hope for no unnecessary party politics within the debate of this bill. I only plead you see the reason behind this proposal as fair. Thank you."

-Amy D. Kingsley (Progressive Party)
Chairwoman of the Board

Message"We dislike the title "President". It implies an office that 'presides' - and we are somewhat repulsed by the idea that the office gives the right to 'control' Deltarians.

We think that a similar title, like "Prime Minister" would be more fitting. Being the first among Ministers is a much more agreeable calling."

MessagePresident and Prime Minister are two separates positions. The title "Prime Minister" is currently used as "Premier" in Deltaria.

Message"There's no reason the Head of State can't be called the Prime Minister, if we consider the position to be a ministerial position, and consider the Head of State to have some kind of primacy.

The True Christian Party would actually prefer to see the Head of State and Head of Government positions united in one, and named as the "Prime Minister" seat."

Message"That position being merged with Premier puts too much responsibility on one individual. In no way could Brett Ranigan (FTP) be able to both manage our nation as the head of the executive branch and still have time to adequately manage the National Forum proceedings. If there are thoughts as to another title we would be willing to change it. Liberals?"
