Message | *sigh* Its not hateful, we just object to badly written and contradictory treaties, if someone were to write a better and more concise treaty, we would support that one |

Message | The treaty is not contradictory at all. And how many times do you need to push for the withdrawal of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights anyway? These continuing proposals are a blemish on the reputation of this great country. Human rights should not be compromised. |

Message | Aye. "Human rights should not be compromised." Yes, because OF COURSE this one specific treaty is judge, jury and executioner with regards to human rights. Just because it says "Human Rights" on the cover doesnt mean that there is no other interpretation of human rights, ie. an interpretation that says people being forced to leanr about pacifism in school isnt a human right. |

Message | Look, your flawed arguments might make sense were it not that, and read this very carefully, THIS IS THE ACTUAL RL UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS. You're only making yourself look stupid by claiming you know better than over 50 years of politicians, human rights activists and the entire international community. Just because you hate certain human rights doesn't mean they are not human rights! Therefore, we oppose this blatant violation of human rights, and will call for a general strike should this hideous bullshit pass. |

Message | "There's no such thing as right to compulsory education. A right to an education, sure. A right to be MADE to educate your kids? That's not a right." The right to education does exist, and to guarantee it to everyone compulsory education is necessary. Just because you believe the poor shouldn't have the right to go to school doesn't mean there is no right to education. |

Message | The UDHR is at the core of the international human rights movement and at the heart of all those who do care about human rights, we will not allow you capitalists to destroy human rights! |

You say it's flawed but have no explanation why other than "lots of people more intelligent than you say it's right so it's right, ha!" This treaty might be ok for RL, where this a specific interpretation set down and where RL nations actually think that being forced to be taught about pacifism is a good thing, but this is Particracy, not RL. |

Message | "Just because you hate certain human rights doesn't mean they are not human rights!" Well we try and tell you that when you whine that the right to bear arms, keep exotic animals, gamble freely, sell alcohol and food freely and so on, are not human rights. Before you tell us off about human rights, just check out your civil liberties, morality and market ratings on the party comparison page. |
Date | 21:58:41, November 27, 2005 CET | From | RSDP - Democratic Front | To | Debating the Trick or Treaty Withdrawl II |
Message | We are using the RL interpretation. And you are indeed opposed to human rights, and there is indeed no such thing as a right to bear arms, there is no such thing as a right for casinos or corporations to make tons of cash out of our citizens by deceiving them, there is no such thing as a right to poison the population (there is a right to consumer protection, however), animals have rights too, and last, but not least, the right to live in a healthy environment is a right to. And we are not even opposed to allowing people to keep exotic animals, we just favour intelligent regulation because we don't want any animals which might carry dangerous diseases to be imported and destroy the fragile ecological balance. In short, we don't believe in a right to infringe upon other people's rights, and that's why our civil liberties rating is in the state it is today. If it weren't for the contrast with the libertarian extremists in Rutania, we would have had a much better rating there. We'd also like to take not of the fact that the Conservative Party is flip-flopping here, no doubt because they were threatened with being kicked out of the Government by the Freedom Party. |

Message | And the right to education IS a human right and can only be guaranteed by compulsory education, at least in the primary stages. So please just fuck off with your bullshit rhetoric. |

Message | "*sigh* Its not hateful, we just object to badly written and contradictory treaties, if someone were to write a better and more concise treaty, we would support that one" No, you wouldn't. You're just using that as a pathetic excuse to engage in actions aimed at the destruction of human rights in the name of corporate greed. Also, arrangements for a massive campaign of civil disobedience are being made as we speak. We'd also like to invite the Radical Freedom Party to participate in it. |
