Bill: Removing Support for Internation Friendship Treaty

Details

Submitted by[?]: Aldurian Moderates

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2147

Description[?]:

Currently, Alduria stands as the only country supporting this bill. This leaves us in a weakened defensive position:

2. 2. No nation will enter into an aggressive military pact with another nation.

3. No nation will enter into a defensive military pact that requires military action from any members in the case that one nation is attacked. Only defensive military pacts that ensure diplomatic means may be entered.

These articles essentially ensure that we may never ask for support against overwhealming odds. This must be changed.

MessageThe JP should take special note of this treaty, considering their worries about our ability to protect ourselves. We feel they would agree with us to remove this treaty's restrictions.
