Bill: Easy Math Smaller Parliament Bill

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Democratic Party (LL)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3181

Description[?]:

The purpose of this bill is to set Parliament's size at 599, so that it is easy to figure out how many votes are needed for a majority (300) or a 2/3 supermajority (400).

We'd actually like to make parliament smaller than that, as it's wasteful for our government to pay even that many MP's; but given past attempts, we think this is the lowest number that can pass.

MessageApparently from their vote, The Common Sense Party thinks it makes common sense to pay 750 legislators instead of 599, and that math regarding majorities should be hard to figure out.

MessageI refuse to acknowledge the argument from "paying" 750 legislators because the game has no functional way of representing that value.

I do however accept this bill on the premise of easier math.

Random quote: "The European Union and environmental advocacy groups use global warming hysteria to advance their own special agendas. The European Union recognizes any significant reduction in CO2 emissions by the United States will significantly reduce its economic output, thereby bringing it closer to the inferior output of European nations. Environmental advocacy groups work to stifle economic and industrial progress wherever they find it to inhibit the successful advancement of peoples in developing nations, inevitably making mankind a second class citizen of planet Earth." - Dr. Jay Lehr
