Bill: Liberal Action on Accountability and Examination under the Law
Details
Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Liberal Movement
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3187
Description[?]:
Firstly, the Liberal Party would like to draw the forum's attention to the following poll: http://classic.particracy.net/viewnews.php?newsid=310924&nation=36 Interesting. While ZERO of those polled supported the current national policy, almost FIFTY percent are behind these amendments. Let it never be said that the Liberal Party will not recognise where it had done wrong. We are a party of the people within a liberal framework, not a party of pure ideology. This is the obvious decision of this nation - having the right to have decisions reviewed and to have accountability upheld across the nation. All citizens should have the access to equality under the law - and reinstating this policy does just that by having federal courts that will work uniformly on matters of law, where there regional counterparts may differ. It is about fairness. |
Proposals
Article 1

Current: There are regional courts that have jurisdiction over questions of regional law and national courts that have jurisdiction over questions of national law.
Proposed: There are regional courts, but decisions of regional courts may be appealed to national courts (if the right to appeal exists).

Message | We admire the Liberal Party for stepping up to right this wrong. The people of Deltaria have spoken and they believe this policy doesn't work. It is time to restore our judicial system. |

Date | 10:06:20, September 24, 2011 CET | From | Syzygy Party | To | Debating the Liberal Action on Accountability and Examination under the Law |
Message | We find this funny. We campaigned to keep the law as is, but a large majority of parties wished to change it to the current law. Now, we see they want it back. The Syzygy Party has been for this Article for the longest time, not after it became the popular choice. http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=327684 This seems like pandering at it's best. If you notice, the Whig Party was vehemently against this. Funny how quickly they abandon their platforms at the first sign of unpopularity. |
