Bill: My Body is my Own Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Deltarian Liberal Movement
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3208
Description[?]:
Proposed by Patrick Nobel, Social Liberal Faction Based on the support gathered for this article in the previous 'Humanity Act'. We should not go down the path where 'silence' is taken as a yes. Anything should be opt-in, rather than opt-out when it comes to such an issue. Contracts generally require an explicit yes, and so will be the case here. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning organ donations.
Old value:: Unless otherwise stated, consent is assumed.
Current: Unless otherwise stated, consent is assumed.
Proposed: Organ donations are legal with personal consent.

Message | "How wonderful would it be, that if after all the division that has rocked our legislature throughout this past term - that we could finally come together on the eve of our nation's election to affirm the rights of the individual. We urge the Syzygy and Social Anarchy Parties to lend their support to this bill before it is too late, so that we may all celebrate this assertion of our national respect towards humanity together." - Dianne Walker Deltarian Liberal Movement Candidate for Governor |

Message | ((OOC: As you may have noted. That was the wrong account, I got a neighbour (ish, same area) person who is also a Democrats fan to sign up in Jelbania since Deltaria was full. In full disclosure I'll say that now. Apparently, when I went to post this message - it was not my account that was logged in, it was his. I don't know if I'm supposed to declare this, but I will now to avoid any situations. To be honest, I have no idea what his plans are with the nation - so that'll be interesting, and I will do my best to avoid influencing (OOC at least - IC is open game, I hope). Anyway - yes. Awkward, and unfortunately a little 'fourth wall' breaky - but I felt like I should post this now. - DLM)) |

Message | (Mistake over-looked! It happens sometimes you know? Anyway, as soon as I saw it was the DLM that posted, I was like, ahhh, ok, this post makes sense now. Anyway, yeah...it's still all good) |

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map. |
Random quote: "Those who are responsible for the national security must be the sole judges of what the national security requires. It would be obviously undesirable that such matters should be made the subject of evidence in a court of law or otherwise discussed in public." - Unattributed member of the the House of Lords on the removal of trade union rights |
