Bill: Diplomatic Immunity
Details
Submitted by[?]: Progressive Conservatives
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3221
Description[?]:
Our government encourages legislators to debate this question instead of moving to an immediate vote. At present, our country grants diplomats an absolute immunity from prosecution. Our government feels, however, that absolute immunity makes diplomats (and, naturally, intelligence agents using a diplomatic cover) more likely to attempt subversive acts when there's no serious consequence to deter them. Although it's not an option, we suggest making diplomats immune from civil proceedings while allowing the state to prosecute offenders - diplomats or otherwise - under criminal law. What do our fellow legislators think? |
