Mr Speaker, we are very concerned about the 5% on essential goods, as this will hit the very poorest in society, something I'm confident the Prime Minister will recognise

Mr. Speaker, while we respect the foreign secretary's critique, my department has also allocated for part of the funds from this sales tax will be directed at sales tax reimbursements for the poorest, minimizing, if not eliminating the burden on them. This will be done via a modest increase to the social services department, allowing cheques to be mailed out as quickly as possible following the sales tax introduction.

MessageMr. Speaker,

If the Socialists had not increased spending, we would not need to raise taxes. Hutori had a balanced budget with a significant surplus and a booming economy before the Socialists came to power, and began to spend. Our nation does not need to raise revenue just so that we "can give it back". Just leave the money with the people.

MessageRt Hon Duke Owens MP, Leader of the Opposition,

Mr Speaker, these tax increases are simply....economic oppression of the Hutorian people. Hutori has had a long history of small state spending and low taxes. This Bill is only required because the state is acquiring businesses across the state and slowly taking over. If the government keeps doing this then the people will be crushed under tax burdens.

Mr Speaker, i agree with the Imperial Union. Why increase taxation to give money back? Just let the people keep what they earn in the first place! This government has absolutely no idea to run an economic system and i know for a fact, that this Bill combined with the "Fair" Taxation Act - http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=333913 - will lead to businesses sacking employees to cover losses through taxes and/or relocating to other nations, again resulting in thousands of job losses.

Mr Speaker, this economic policy is a total mess and the Finance Minister doesnt have a clue.

Mr Speaker, for many years under the last administration there was a 50 billion HLR deficit, Under this government, the budget has been in surplus, and clearly the scaremongering by the Conservative party that an increase in spending would increase the national debt was wrong. I am willing to support this bill in light of the help that my right honourable friend has promised to those on low incomes

Mr Speaker, we demand evidence to back up the FHP's statement. That statement being that we said increasing spending would increase the national debt. If the Foreign Secretary cannot find a reference then we demand an apology for lying to the House.

Mr Speaker, the leader of the opposition will find this election leaflet, used in Adelia during the election campaign by a pressure group that has provided financial backing to his party, stated "The Hutorian Conservative party has demonstrated it's control of our country's finances. The socialists will increase spending and invest money into your public services which they cannot afford, and put at risk our national debt."

If the leader of the opposition wishes to distance himself from the group, I would like to invite him to do so now.

Anyways for future reference proving it means a direct quote from a Parliamentary debate. So we will consider your last IC statement as retracted and you can try again....seeing as im feeling generous....

I shall simply refer to conservatives, as opposed to the Conservative party in the future.

And before you say that's not fair play, I will refer you too your role-playing rants on how bad socialism is

Feel free to use my "RP rants" - seeing as they are now actual events that have happened.....just so long as we all keep away from making stuff up to suit our own arguments. Its easy to do im sure....but lets try to be careful debates are heated enough as it is....which suits me fine!
