Description[?]:
Recent events across the border in Lodamun and in Valruzia has prompted calls within the PSS electorates for increased security. Although the situation has not affected Likatonia directly, we would like to maintain the this state of affairs. PSS proposes the following: 1. We allow internal security to examine letters and correspondence in extreme situations. (We can not allow Likatonia to become some sort of transit zone for orders for military units in Lodamun, nor should we become a conduit for intelligence. 2. We wish to tighten border controls. We have no desire to be seen as a safe haven for either side in the conflict, with the consequential risk of hostilities spilling on to Likatonian soil. |

Message | The AAS absolutely endorses BOTH of these proposals... in fact, we hadn't even noticed that the basic limits on 'confidentiality of letters' had been overturned! Many of the AAS would ACTUALLY like to see borders closed completely, except for those who have taken the time to obtain correct permits, but we will support this intermediary stage. |
Date | 06:04:36, November 28, 2005 CET | From | Representative Party | To | Debating the State security Bill (iii) |
Message | We are opposed to article 2, as we believe it is in our interests to welcome immigrants, business travellers and tourists to this country and ot deter them, with invasive questioning, excessive paperwork and unneccesary suspicion. We believe it is the duty of the security services to provide evidence that a person is dangerous, and it is not the duty of that person to prove they are innocent. |
Date | 15:08:05, November 28, 2005 CET | From | AM Radical Libertarian Party | To | Debating the State security Bill (iii) |
Message | The RLP must regretfully oppose these measures at this time. We feel that there is no evidenced that any parties have been violating our integrety, and absent of that evidence we cannot support eliminating our personal freedoms. Those who relinquish essential freedoms for temporary safety find they have neither freedom nor safety. |
Date | 21:53:22, November 28, 2005 CET | From | Likaton Fascist Front | To | Debating the State security Bill (iii) |
Message | PSS feels this is a measured response in troubled times and a reasonable precaution to take. We will fully support the removal of article 2 when the geopolitical climate changes. |
