Description[?]:
It isn't that democratic to not let anyone criticise the government, now is it? If we truly are a DEMOCRATIC republic, anyone should be able to express their opinions, even if they oppose the opinions of the government. Also, media with offensive thoughts about the government should be tolerated and the country should be open to the rest of the world. Liberty for the people! |

Message | This is merely a proposal trying to introduce bourgeouisie influences into Telamon. Citizens ARE free to express themselves, this proposal is the living proof for this. However reactionary talk is barred from entering the media landscape, and rightly so. We can see that everywhere where there is private media you see lies spread in their own self interest. Our current media model allows for it to be a voice for the working class, nothing more and nothing less. I see little that is wrong with the way things are. |

Message | What's truth four you might not be truth for someone else. Your opinion isn't necessarily shared with the rest of the world. What we are proposing now is liberty and democracy for the people, something that you obviously don't support, even though you call yourself democratic. |
Date | 13:59:28, January 01, 2012 CET | From | Communist Party of Telamon | To | Debating the Allowing the population to criticise the government |
Message | We believe in democracy for the people, but not in democracy for everybody (i.e. the bourgeouisie). This has proven to be a historical fallacy. Not seeing class and class struggle in specific as a basic tenet of society is a harmfull process indeed. It will lead to nothing more then barbarism, dog eat dog, unemployment and all other problems associated with capitalist society in ANY form. |
Date | 14:04:03, January 01, 2012 CET | From | Togetherness Party | To | Debating the Allowing the population to criticise the government |
Message | We're not pro-capitalism, but the government can't control the media. We've got to let the people decide for themselves. They have to be able to choose their own opinions, a society with only one accepted opinion is a very boring society. |
Date | 14:07:25, January 01, 2012 CET | From | Communist Party of Telamon | To | Debating the Allowing the population to criticise the government |
Message | Clear capitalist double-speak. You are proposing to take away the power from the people and giving it to the select phew (the owners of the media outlets). Only they can profess their opinion, and they can choose who will be allowed to give their opinion. Generally speaking these will be pro-capitalist speakers, due to the inherent interests of these private media owners. |
Date | 14:11:23, January 01, 2012 CET | From | Togetherness Party | To | Debating the Allowing the population to criticise the government |
Message | Of course, you can keep your government-owned media, in which you can have propaganda for yourselves. But let others have their propaganda as well, otherwise you most certainly can't claim to be democratic. |
