Message | Mr Speaker, I personally object to our childrens education being left in the hands of some mumbo jumbo speaker who has a chip on his or her shoulder. (Glances at BPP Education Minister) |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The URP will soon take over the education department if the proposed cabinet passes. I do support much of this bill because the URP has a history of maintaining its own system of independent universities which can once again thrive if allowed. Yet, the transition would be painful for current students and I'm not talking about those that this bill would physically abuse at the hands of their schoolmasters. I am talking about those enrolled or nearing enrollment in our higher education institutions. The bill provides some means of financial relief, but does not take into account skyrocketing costs if the current massive subsidy is abruptly removed. Mr Speaker, rather than risking the education of our young people, we can responsibly transition our university system to private, not-for-profit groups more responsibly by allowing the Republics to guide the process. |

Message | If we are looking purely at higher education, then what is on offer is means tested loans. Those who need it get it, but financial support is not simply given out to anyone from a poor background, it would allow lower middle class and middle class families to seek aid as well. Furthermore we would anticipate receiving much of this money back, once graduates are in higher paid graduate jobs. |

Message | The VNP could support Articles 1, 3 and 4 in some fashion, but cannot support legislation containing any of the remaining articles. |
