Bill: Reforms to the Electoral System Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Centre Party of Gaduridos

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2048

Description[?]:

Whereas there are a number of inactive parties in Gaduridos which still hold seats, and which therefore make it harder to achieve a majority vote for important issues such as cabinet proposals,

And whereas the best way to reduce the influence of these inactive parties is frequent elections,

Therefore be it resolved that we increase the frequency of elections, so as to insure that the makeup of the Board of Advisors is more often reflective of the will of the people.

MessageI'm proposing to hold elections every three years instead of every four. The intent is to avoid the situation we recently saw, where due to inactivity one party got an artificial majority for a long time, and several active parties were shut out of having seats for months at a time.
