To accomodate our large immigrant community, we propose that foreign marriages be recognized regardless of what Likatonian domestic policy is, thus saving much waste from paperwork submitted by new foreign applicants. |

Message | The AAS can see where this idea COMES from, but we think it folly to allow our own internal policy to be set in this way, by outside sources. If, for example (and we realise we are being somewhat flippant), our neighbours in Keymon start allowing their citizens to marry their household pets or... furniture, the legislation suggested here, means that we would have to recognise man-goldfish, and woman-armchair unions as legal and legitimate. The AAS believes this kind of policy MUST be decided on an 'in-nation' basis. |
