Message | Rt Hon Michael Bagshawe MP, Leader of the Opposition Mr Speaker, this legislation is in contravention of the laws of the Commonwealth. Though it does not restore the monarchy it implies a link between our head and state and a monarch of some foreign nation. We will not rest until this is overturned. |

Message | Rt Hon Samantha Riley MP, Hutorian Prime Minister, Mr Speaker, the FHP has now decided to vote against this Bill...after they negotiated our party to withdraw our demands for a full Monarchy. They had convinced us to invest into the idea of the Commonwealth with an elected official with the Monarch as a purely ceremonial figure....however if this Bill doesn't pass and the FHP is responsible for this backstabbing, we will be forced to re-take our original view that the "Commonwealth" is undesirable and we will revert back to our position of opposing all Constitutional Reform from the Most Excellent and Serene Kingdom and bring forward policies to revert back to the old system. |

Message | OOC : to clear up confusion - there is no proposal to change the nations name back here. The FHP said we proposed it - we are not. The "most excellent and serene" in the Monarchs title is simply the Monarchs official title. |

Message | Julie Ridley, FHP leader Mr Speaker, our party never decided "to vote against" the bill as the Prime Minister suggests, we only decided to abstain and I think that the Prime Minister just needs to calm down and stop making idle threats about the constitution. The Rt Hon Lady knows all too well that she needs 67% to change the make up of this country, and any future ambitions will require such numbers. If the Prime Minister should ever win enough seats to bring about such a change alone then she is welcome to do as she wishes, but at present the HCP failed to win even 50%. We are willing to back this bill, but we will not accept the mud slinging concerning our real position. The Prime Minister can be confident in the future and now that any constitutional changes that involve this party come at a price |

Message | Rt Hon Samantha Riley MP, Hutorian Prime Minister, Mr Speaker, perhaps if the FHP would say what it wants a deal can be agreed....because we are yet to hear anything of the sort. By the way Mr Speaker, we are not "mudslinging" we are explaining the current situation and the FHP would do well do make their position on this Bill crystal clear so we can sort this issue out. So Mr Speaker, what do the FHP want in exchange for their support? |
