MessageLet me expose an inconsistency in the political thinking of our government at this moment.

So, the government needs to be able to read every letter penned by a person in this country because a fear of crime, but any person (including criminals) can purchase a gun freely.

With that kind of hypocrisy,
It is the position of the clique that the K-LP do not, in fact care about addressing crime, but instead have an insatiable thirst to disrupt and remove the civil liberties of it's people.

MessageMy party would support this bill if the ownership of guns is limited to sane, law-abiding citizens. We ask that the mentally unstable and criminal be excluded from the possibility of licensure. Surely, you would agree that allowing these kinds of people to possess firearms is bald stupidity. There is the ideal and there is reality. When it comes to gun-ownership, one must stick with reality.

Furthermore, the types of weapons owned by the ordinary person should be limited. It is utterly incomprehensible that the ordinary man should have the right to possess a grenade or a rocket launcher. In fact, I rather think that one would be worried if one's neighbor comes to the possession of those things.

While the possession of firearms is necessary for the defense of liberty, we should always rein principles with old-fashioned sense.

MessageIt's a fact that easy access to guns causes a dramatic increase in armed violence. This proposal is simply unacceptable.

MessageThe government has not the right to restrict people in this area and the law which was in place didn't actually prevented mental ill people to get weapons.
And so we are giving the people their rights back and not taking any away from them, as this clique would do.
Where is the clique? I can't see them in parliament (laughter on KLP benches)

Karl Fuchser.

MessageWhat matters what the previous law did not prevent? We are talking about the current proposition, which allows for a reckless trade in firearms - and no regulation of it whatever. Those who are most likely to commit crimes are already established criminals and the right honorable gentleman here is perfectly willing to allow them to wield weapons, which they will most likely use for harmful, dishonorable practice. As I have mentioned before, it is bald stupidity. Refusing to face the facts is the primary reason why principles rot. I suggest Mr Fushcer face reality.

MessageAgain, the right hournable gentelman is not understanding the point.
This law dosn't make the situation "worse" but it is only taking out the licensing of guns. So before, everyone could every weapon he wanted. And because we have seen that the licensing of people often fails, we want to ablosh that useless measure altogether.
