Message | We believe this to be a retrograde step which destroys many of the freedoms that were recently so hard won. Do we so mistrust the people that we must regulate to death their entire lives? We say that we must trust the people and allow them the freedom and choice to make their own decisions. Furthermore, we must open the country up once more; region the community of nations and allow trade and investment into Telamon. This is the way to create jobs and prosperity, not monolithic regulation, ownership and interference by the state. That way lies the stagnation and ruin of this great nation. We may now be in opposition, but we will fight tooth and nail to preserve the hard won freedoms which we have secured for the people over these past 4 years and to preserve liberal democracy in Telamon. Long love the Federal Republic. John Russell Leader of the Opposition |

Message | OOC: i would rather have seen this bill split into several categories, but we'll vote in favor for now. Despite some major flaws in it. |

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature. |
