Bill: Against gambling with higher stakes act - CPT

Details

Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Telamon

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3267

Description[?]:

Because there is much more at stake in our economy then just a couple of Telamonian Pounds we suggest that stocks will be abolished. How can a company decently function if there are shareholders pushing for quick profits as opposed too long term proper goals.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Stock exchanges have been a boon to our economy, and banning them would be a big step backwards. We agree on the need to regulate them closely, but what is being proposed here is totally unacceptable.

MessageMr. Speaker,

As so-called 'capitalists' you should agree that companies must stand on their own merrit, and not on the merrits of others people. Only this will create - thinking from your perspective - real competition, rather then quick profits for shareholders.

MessageMr. Speaker,

In order to achieve their potential, companies need to be able to raise funds for investment. Floating shares on the stock exchange is one way to do that. If we deny them that opportunity, we will stifle our economy.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
