MessageMany of this bill's proposed policies seem illogical of dangerous to our party. Article 1 is somewhat unnecessary; people should be free to dress as they want and this should not have to be named in any official legislation. However, we do agree that crossdressing should never be punished or frowned upon. So, this is not a major issue for us.

We support the proposed change in article 2, but articles 3 and 4, concerning forest management, are definitely not acceptable for us. The Linkspartei believes that ecological matters should be in the hands of local governments.

We support articles 5, 6 and 10, regarding our migration, travelling and refugee policies, in principle, but worry that the proposed changes will cause practical problems. If we wish to take care of these immigrants and refugees and if we want to help them build a better future for themselves, we might want to opt for quality rather than quantity regarding our immigration policies.

We oppose all of the anti-religious articles. We feel that these articles restrict the individual's right to think and believe as they wish. Everyone should be able to choose their own religion and keep its traditions, as long as this does not harm others.

In conclusion, we will have to vote against this bill, even though we do think some of its proposed policies are worth discussing. Also, we want to thank the SED for sharing its program for the next elections.

MessageI thank our coalitionpartner for his comments. I would like to underline that this proposal is our election agenda in order to make our position on many issues visible for the electorate. We fully understand that not every party will be "enthousiastic" about our intentions.
