Bill: No Forced Charity
Details
Submitted by[?]: Freedom Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2149
Description[?]:
Taking peoples money and giving it away to somewhere where it does not benefit them is the equivalent of stealing. If they want to donate to charity, let them do it by themselves If people don't want to give aid, why should we make them?! The responsibility of the Rutanian government is to serve and protect the citizens of Rutania and their interests. The government's actions should reflect the will of every Rutanian individual, and in matters like this, the best way to do that is to LET THEM CHOSE THEMSELVES. Coercing money from Rutanians to give to other Rutanians is bad enough, but actually diverting the wealth of Rutania as a whole to other nations is damaging to the whole country. Even a socialist should realise that every Rutanian, hobo or robber baron, will suffer if Rutanian wealth, be it that of individuals or that of the state, is removed from the Rutanian economy. |

Message | So you think its better to only have humanitarian and development aid when a disaster makes the news, like the kind of disaster with a number of casualties equal to the number of people who die of AIDS every three weeks, only that the latter doesn't make the news in such a dramatic way so that they don't get any charity? A vote for this is a vote for stupity, a vote for letting the media alone decide who gets aid! This will only turn charity and the humanitarian aid community into a big lottery with one or two winning charities a year! |

Message | This will not let people choose for themselves, this will let the media decide with the sole goal to make lots of profit out of a disaster. |

Message | In this case, your "cure" would be worse than the disease. |

Message | "Even a socialist should realise that every Rutanian, hobo or robber baron, will suffer if Rutanian wealth, be it that of individuals or that of the state, is removed from the Rutanian economy." Bullshit, nothing can help our Rutanian economy more than good tradepartners instead of development countries. |

Message | Better than what it was, but we would prefer the tied aid thing. Anyway RSDP, instead of posting lots and lots of vague, unconnected statements in lots of different posts, think for a bit, THEN make one, bigger post which ties in all your ideas. |

Message | OOC: I just like to make clear that there are multiple members of the RSDP which speak in Parliament, unlike in *some* other parties we do not quite impose the leadership's view upon all members. |

Message | OOC: Then post then each saying their own bit in a single post, ie: "I disagree," said one MP. "As do I," said another. What you do just looks like a mess and I suspect that your "multiple MPs" excuse is actually jsut designed to cover up the fact that actually you just post more and more as it comes to you, rather than putting any thought into your initial post. |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
