Bill: G.O.C Power System Action Plan

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kundrati Nationalist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3287

Description[?]:

Government Owned Corporation (GOC) Power System Action Plan will place the nations power grid under the control of the Government in order to provide power to all citizens in the nation at the minimum price possible in order to meet the needs of all civilians regardless of class. We can not allow citizens to worry about paying for their electric bill if they have to make the choice between eating and the power. We can make a difference by keeping the markets low in order to prevent such decisions from being made.

MessageA national powergrid will, as any other government service, lead to massive scarcities of electricity for the general citizenry. So, while class will not matter, everyone will end up having worse electricity. The markets allow for maximum efficiency. Meaning that costs would go down and quality would increase. We wouldn't want a monopoly running electricity if it was private, why would a government monopoly be any better?

MessageWe would prefer that each region maintain control of their grid so that they could better manage localized needs and situations. However, that is something that can be changed in a future bill and as such we will support the current legislation in this nature.
