Message | The point of this is to permit kids to work at Mcdonalds, earn some extra income, etc, and to allow emancipated minors to work to support themselves. |

Message | Additional regulations than adult workers is good, I presume these would limit the working period to a certain number of hours and be in the interests of child safety. I support this. |

Message | Indeed, children mayearn some extra money for their driving license, etc. In this way we will support this proposal but suggestto set up a specific number of hours, a child is allowed to work per week. We believe 16 hrs per week but not more then 4 hrs per day. |

Message | I don't like the IPS' proposed amendment, not because it's intent is wrong, but because it is too limiting. Many children are entertainers on television or in the music industry, and work more than 4 hours a day during "busy seasons" and work less during non-busy seasons. That kind of limitation would put a severe hit on the entertainment industry, especially for "family oriented" shows. As such, I'd prefer to leave the bill as is. |

Message | What currently qualifies as a "child"? I had my first real job the first summer I was 14, because that's what was legal where I live. If the current law prohibits anyone under 18 from working, I'm for the change. If "child" means person under another age like 14, I'm not so sure. |

Message | That's a good question. At law in commonwealth nations anyone under the age of majority is presumed to be a child (in fact, they are called "infants" under the law). In order to avoid confusion, I'll build in a definition into the bill. |
