Bill: Breaking relations with the Pontesi Hegemony

Details

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 3295

Description[?]:

The current government of the Pontesi Hegemony have shown their true face by meddling into our affairs. They stormed into our negotiations and neutral proposals claiming we do unacceptable acts while the only thing we and our coalition partner are doing is discussing about a change of government structure. We could live with that but now they have gone even further by openly condemning our nation for that.

We believe this is unacceptable, the Pontesi Hegemony has clearly shown they do not care if our leave is only temporarily or for the fact that this is democracy at work. Therefore we think it is time that we break all relations with this war-mongering and nosy government. If the current leaders, the Pontesi Republican Party, are no longer in charge we believe we can restore our relations as the opposition, the Pontesi Democrat Party, disagrees with the RP's proposition to condemn our government.

It is clear that the ATR is not a peace-loving organization anymore, maybe it is time we search for allies on our continent that are not in the ATR so we can stand strong on Majatra. Because we fear that the war-mongering hordes of the ATR find the lands on Majatra very tempting to attack.

We hope the First Minister, President and our other colleagues can agree on this matter.

Signed,

Minister of Foreign Affairs
Duchess Anna-Maria van Wiel tot Wiel

MessageThe ARVP expresses its full support for this resolution. It is the view of the ARVP, and we expect of the Government of Vanuku, that the current government of Pontesi, lead by the Pontesi Republican Party, is illegitimate and should not be recognized.

The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, mr. Peter van Egmont, has been in contact with his Pontesi counterpart about this issue. A full summary of this contact will be released shortly.

We do however disagree with the view of the KU that the ATR is not a peace-loving organization anymore. The ARVP still believes that the organization itself is a good instrument for dialogue and cooperation. Having said that, we do acknowledge that some elements in the ATR, mainly Barmenia and Pontesi, are not open for dialogue and friendly cooperation, but instead bully and threaten other nations into following their ideology.

It is our hope that we can resolve our differences through an open dialogue, but we warn the Pontesian and Barmenian governments that we will not tolerate any violations of our sovereignty and we will do anything to garanty the unity and stability of our beloved homeland Vanuku, even with the use of force.

Long Live Vanuku!!!!

MessageTranscript of contact between the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, mr. Peter van Egmont, and his Pontesi counterpart.

"Greetings, traitors of democracy

I greet you this way, because you have shown to be little but traitors by proposing a "temporary" withdrawal from the Alliance of Terran Republics. True republicans would never propose such a thing. You have left the door open for the enslavement of your people to a tyrant, and you should not be surprised if the throne you created upon your chained people shall fall upon your own heads, in the end. We demand you to make an apology to your own people, and to the Alliance, should you not wish stricter pressure from our side.

Signed,
Thyria Daremyth, Foreign minister of Selucian Pontesi

To: Thyria Daremyth, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pontesi
From: Peter van Egmont, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Vanuku

Youre Excellency,

The position of the current Government of the Sixth Republic is still the same on the Issue of a Republic over a Monarchy. We are still a staunch supporter of the Republic. Having said that, it is the democratic right of the People of Vanuku to voice their opinion in the proposed referendum.

How does a foreign government, whom the Government of Vanuku considers to be illegitimate, dare to make demands on a domestic issue in Vanuku. You talk about enslavement and tyranny, but you yourself enslave the Pontesi people, who you deny exist, and impose youre tyrannic rule over them.

If the illegitimate government of Pontesi dares to involve itself with the internal affairs of Vanuku again, this shall have serious repercussions. You have been warned for the last time.

Long Live the Sixth Republic!!

Peter van Egmont,
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Vanuku

To: Peter van Egmont, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Vanukui Republic
From Thyria Daremyth, Foreign Minister of Selucian Pontesi

Honourable minister,

I should be relieved when you declare yourself and your party staunch supporters of republicanism. But I am not. You dare call our government, the only supporters of liberty and republicanism in our country, and supported by over 90% of the people, illegitimate for recognizing historical truth. Not only that, but you also accuse us of slavery and tyranny, when all we have done is founding a democratic republic, combated the evil of extreme nationalism and pursed socially and environmentally responsible policies. You prefer the fascist puppets of our greatest enemies, the International Monarchist League, that so many brave men and women fighting for the Alliance have died to fought, to us. Beware, as you are the ones who could be considered illegitimate, you who leave the door open to tyranny over your own people. You are the ones who should beware of serious repercussions. You are betraying the Alliance. Be warned. As true democrats and believers in human rights, the Selucio-Pontesi government recognizes our universal responsibility to fight tyranny and oppression in all the corners of the world, and you shall not be allowed to introduce a tyrannical system of government in your own nation. Consider yourselves warned for the last time.

God bless republicanism!

Thyria Daremyth, Foreign minister of Selucian Pontesi"

MessageThe Pontesi Republican Party should also note that the nation of Vanuku has no connections to the International Monarchist League. We as a party are members of that organization but we have no intention to make Vanuku join the IML. We instead with to promote peace for our own nation by leaving the ATR, that is a party opinion and in no way the voice of the cabinet.

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
