MessageWell, the only reason we object to a 2 level sales tax is because it opens the door for everyone to want their product classified as "essential". That, and the rich spend more of their income on "essential" goods, such as food, housing, and clothing, than the poor do anyway, so it defeats the purpose. Allowing the government to apply bias in the taxation rates is what we oppose.

MessageStill though, it would make it easier on the lower class, allowing them to climb the economic ladder faster.

MessageThe lower class needs cars too, the lower class needs other "luxury" goods just as much as anyone else.

If you want to exempt everything the "lower class" needs, you'll end up with the only luxury goods being charter jets and caviar.

MessageBut such basics as food are necessary and should be exempt from such high taxes. I understand what you are trying to say but it clearly defices essential goods, food and basic clothing.
