MessageMr Speaker,

We beleive this country should have more progressive taxation policy that will support more financial and social support for the country to move forward. We dont feel it fair for people earning 1000 LPD should pay the same tax as someone earning 15 times their wage. Please can the house come to some agreement on this issue as it is now a pressing matter.

Kirk Davids,
Leader of the NCP.

MessageMr. Speaker,

With regret I must inform the honourable member that tax rates were fixed as part of a constitutional amendment introduced by the Constitutional Imperialist League around a thousand years ago, and that as this amendment is still in force, no modification to the tax rate can be made without the repeal of the said amendment, requiring a two-thirds majority.

I yield the floor.

MessageMr Speaker,

We want democracy for the people... not the religious fanatics! If they lose power at the next election and we win... it will be a different kettle of fish!

MessageMr. Speaker,

The gentleman's speech is full of "if", and "want", but its most fundamental issue is its total irrelevance to the issue at hand. The constitutional amendment would have to be revoked by a 2/3s majority before any changes to the tax system could be introduced.

I yield the floor.

Myself and other parties will come to consesus on this issue. I hope for the sake of all the people of our nation, the LCTP is removed from power! Their attitude to social justice is frankly, disgusting! Victory for the people will come under the red banner!

MessageMr. Speaker,

Once again the gentleman refuses to address the point. My party and I are very much concerned with social justice, but the question here is a quite separate constitutional matter.

I yield the floor.

MessageMr Speaker,

There will be a new future for our country! And a new constitution if the people decide to vote for me! That was my point. The reason this isnt being voted on is because of the constitution! It is restrictive and repulsive!

Leader of the NCP.
