Message | August 2101 LLP's Republica act passes and gives our nation a name that only three parties ever agreed with. The massive upsurge of the liberal power is in decline and so we declare we set things right and return our nation its proud honourable original name. We need 66% of us to vote yes on it so i would like to know what everyone except the DS and LLP has to say since they are the only two left of the original three supporters. |

Message | We'll reject the change, smacks of petty beaurocracy to me. |

Message | Rejected by us also. The name, in fact, was changed as it has more heritage than 'Republic Of'. |

Message | It is merely returning us to what we where before the Liberals had complete control of laws and constitution. If you chose to oppose this now it shall only be the first in a large number of pantian bitchings in favour of our origins. Before the stink of communism set upon us. |

Message | I guess you'll want to re-write everything in our history books (OOC: read wiki) so that its more Pantian favourable too? There are five nations in this world called the "Republic of..." and a further five with a simple variation on that. Would you like homogenise ourselves so that we're no different to the rest of the world? Against. |

Message | I would never change history I would just like for us to get over the time when three parties destroyed democracy. |

Message | I'm starting to get the feeling that many parties here don't know what democracy means. When a party is elected to the Senate, it is irrelevant how many seats they have as whether the situation is democratic or not. It matters how the election is conducted, something we don't have control over is what determines the democraticness of an election. So when three parties are elected in a large enough proportion to change the name of the country, that means people think your ideology is ridiculous. Looks like little has changed for the Pantians/Hosengotts. |

Message | I joined this nation specifically because of the Roman sounding name. I am a big Roman History buff, and fan of the SPQR mysteries by John Maddox Roberts. Its also why as a party name I used an old Roman Republic party name. So I like it as is. |

Message | would you guys prefer "Peoples Republic"? |
Date | 03:31:35, December 04, 2005 CET | From | Democratic Socialists | To | Debating the National Origins Act |
Message | We oppose this change which would serve only to make Baltusia more like other nations; our uniqueness is a point of pride, not something of which we should be ashamed. Next, do the Pantians intend to return the Praetor to a Presidency instead of its Baltusian name, and the Senate to an Englar Parliament? To the Neo Ex: We would not. We see neither need nor desire for a name change. |

Message | "I joined this nation specifically because of the Roman sounding name." OOC: Funny how that was the original intention of the Dem Socs who started the theming. |
