Bill: Democracy Restoration Act (Reproposal of Voting Rights for Criminals)
Details
Submitted by[?]: New Order Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3310
Description[?]:
Voting is both a fundamental right and a civic duty. However there remains one significant blanket barrier to the franchise: 5.3 million Keymon citizens are not allowed to vote because of a criminal conviction. As many as 4 million of these people live, work, and raise families in our communities, but because of a conviction in their past they are still denied the right to vote. This Act will allow those not convicted of a federal crime, those who are on probation, and criminals that have been judged by the state to have been rehabilitated. |

Message | "First of all i doubt that one third of the Keymonite population have a criminal past. Your numbers are incorrect! And second i can find now law baring them from voting, so i see no need in this proposal. They already are allowed to vote!" - Daniele Amaru, Supreme Chancellor |
