Bill: Adjusting Seat Numbers
Details
Submitted by[?]: Plaid Cydweithol (Ailgodi)
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2152
Description[?]:
Odd numbers of seats in the chamber eliminates the (albeit rare) possibility of a staemate and thus is beneficial to the democratic process. Therefore, we propose that the number of seats in the House of Representatives be increased from 400 to 401. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The total number of seats in the legislative assembly. Should be between 75 and 750.
Old value:: 400
Current: 250
Proposed: 401

Message | We favour 201 actually. It reduces costs and does not lower the democratic level of our nation. However, 401 is acceptable. |

Message | OOC: Sorry, I was going to add the proposal but I had a power cut in my house, and my PC's refused to boot since then. Works now, though :) Why? - To eliminate any chances of a stalemate. we can't tie right now anyway, unless for some reason only me and the liberals voted. - This would come into effect for the next election, where results may be different. |

Message | (I say, I didn't realise the election would be so soon. It was held between me moving this to a vote and me voting on it, I think...) |
