Description[?]:
FROM THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS: My dear honourable Members of Parliament, I, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently received a message from Xiao Liang, the Chancellor of the Great Empire of Indrala, requesting that we do consider the prospect of placing the ultimate control and sovereignty of our Republic under the powers of their country and Head of State. Their message is as follows: "Rt. Hon. Minister Arthur Lexington, Seeing as Indrala is one of the more influential nations in Southern Dovani, I was wondering if you would be willing to install the Holy Emperor of Indrala upon the throne of Vorona in order to create a strong bastion of defense against the various imperialist who desire our lands? Of course, such a monarchy would exist within the Governor-General system, where the people of Vorona elect a representative for the Duke of Vorona, creating a crowned republic, mixing the best elements of republicanism and constitutional monarchy, thus creating a government nearly devoid of flaws. I sincerely hope that you will consider this offer. Dovani must be for the Dovanians. Sincerely, Xiao Liang Chancellor of the Great Empire of Indrala" I am bound by law and convention to report this issue to Parliament as a potential threat to our beloved nation's peace, security, sovereignty, and independence. I HEREBY beg to move this motion that this House condemns the invasive actions of the Great Empire of Indrala, and to reject their proposal without hesitation. |

Message | Sir, as attached is the message report, accounting for any correspondence as of yet. ONE --- "Rt. Sincerely, Xiao Liang Chancellor of the Great Empire of Indrala" TWO (REPLY) --- "Chancellor Xiao Liang, Although I, as Foreign Minister of Vorona, do acknowledge that your country do have some influence in our region and the World, I certainly do not see you as a superpower. I find your request of making Vorona a substituent state of your so-called "Great Empire" obsessively insulting and offending. I do, however, hope that our countries do cooperate in a stronger partnership, but on equal terms as equal nations. I regret to inform you that I am bound by law and convention to report this issue to the Parliament of Vorona as a potential threat to our nation's sovereignty and independence. Sincerely, Arthur Lexington Minister of Foreign Affairs Republic of Vorona" THREE --- "Rt. Hon. Minister Arthur Lexington, Oh no, Indrala is not a superpower at all. Nowhere have I ever claimed such a thing. Neither have I claimed that Vorona would be a "substituent state" of a "Great Empire". "Great Empire" describes Indrala alone and reflects the fact that it was created by the conquest of various states on the Indralan subcontinent thousands of years ago. Personal unions are political, not military efforts. Our nation has absolutely no desire for the conquest of any nation. Our offer was never meant to insult the Republic of Vorona. Since it has, I must apologize for my lack of foresight in determining a possible reaction from yourself. Since our offer was merely an offer and rejected, why not come up with a new offer? How about an alliance of Southern Dovani nations to defend against the likes of Hulstria and Luthori, among others? All nations could be equal and leadership could rotate. What do you think of this proposal? Sincerely, Xiao Liang Chancellor of the Great Empire of Indrala" FOUR (REPLY) --- "Chancellor Xiao Liang, I do apologise for a over-reactive response but I regret to say that any personal unions, political or otherwise, is out of the question. I do personally prefer a monarchy, but it shall be a Voronian monarchy. I am glad to take up your offer of an Dovanian alliance. I hope that we will commence and end negotiations with the other nations involved as soon as possible, in time for a treaty to be written. Sincerely, Arthur Lexington Minister of Foreign Affairs Republic of Vorona OOC: I am sorry for misreading your message and deeming it as aggressive!" |
