Message | What is the Liberal reasoning for reducing it to first trimester only? We have no set position on this, so are open to debate, mind we are strongly in favour of right to choose. |
Date | 00:44:40, June 13, 2012 CET | From | Progressive Green Party | To | Debating the Abortion Bill |
Message | We would be in favor of such a measure, given that we are a pro-life party and support the outlawing of abortion in all trimesters except for extreme cases. |

Message | I would agree with the PGP. Underage teens should have a choice. If people are a victim of rape and get pregnant they should get a choice. |

Message | Our position on this is to undertake a compromise between the pro-life and pro-choice positions. During the first trimester of pregnancy a foetus is definitely not viable, and would be unable to live if born. During the second trimester is when the foetus becomes viable, at around 20 weeks. We believe that women should have a choice as to whether to have an abortion, but that once the foetus has a chance of surviving when born it should be given the chance to life. We believe this to be a reasonable compromise to the pro-life and pro-choice arguments. |

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI). |
