Message | The right to be secure in shelter is a human right. We can't support this. This will only lead to increased inequality. We support moderate deregulation in other, less-critical, areas, but the end result of this proposal is only an increase in inequality. |
Date | 02:35:37, June 14, 2012 CET | From | Social Democrat Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | We do not intend to make anybody homeless, just to give hard-working families an opportunity to purchase their own homes. |
Date | 10:11:51, June 14, 2012 CET | From | SCI Libertarian-Socialist Syndicate (LL) | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | Land should not belong to anyone. It should be held in a trust for the common good. Also, why would someone desire to spend money on a home if the government will give them a home to use indefinitely for free? (Not only that, but also allow them to refuse to give in to eminent domain requests.) (OOC: Ah.... crazy conflicting laws, like our current laws banning recreational drugs, and requiring all recreational drugs to be sold through government stores.) ;) |
Date | 20:59:12, June 14, 2012 CET | From | People's Socialist Labour Party | To | Debating the Housing Act |
Message | OOC: I kind of figured one would take precedence - if recreational drugs aren't legal then obviously they can't be sold. Does make for contradictory laws though. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
