| Message | So citizens should live off welfare, and other government-provided services, but not pay back some form of service? This creates a culture of selfish bastards like those that exist among the conservative members of the federal council. Community service is something good. It is simply giving, to others, what the government had arranged to be given to you. Many citizens benefit from community service done by others; why can't they do the same form of community service to give back to society? Community service also allows citizens to build skills in their chosen area of work. Such experience is very valuable on a resume for a job application. Community service, itself, looks good on a resume. |
