Message | The sociaal-democratische patij is against a war. But to save our coalition with the Keizerlijke Unie, we are going to abstain. |
Date | 11:19:08, June 24, 2012 CET | From | Internationale Federatie voor Socialisme | To | Debating the War Preparations |
Message | The IFS feels the need to remind the Social-Democrats that their duty is to the people, first and foremost, not to the party in power. By abstaining on such a capital issue they appear to only be counting their cards for the elections. This is not an innocent bill ! We are talking about land mines and nuclear weapons, both of which kill more civilians than soldiers, and render areas unlivable for years on end ! |
Date | 20:24:58, June 24, 2012 CET | From | Knstat Nrzilyk Kmitat | To | Debating the War Preparations |
Message | The reasons for this are simple. First most, we thank the Social-Democrats for abstaining in this issue. Speaker from the socialist federation, our nation is under threat and we wish to avoid a conflict on our own soil at all costs. We can not risk a full on assault on our own nation. Words do not scare the Barmenians, perhaps a well defended nation with all the military cards available will scare them from assaulting our nation. Let it be known we will do everything within our power to avoid using land mines and nuclear devices but our nation can not risk occupation from an enemy force. Parliamentary Speaker of the Imperial Union, Godfried van Prinsenaard, KR |

Message | We stand on our position and hope the party in power never resorts to using the devices they have just decided to obtain. Vanuku has already made provisions for using nuclear devices and land mines, this bill only extends these prerogatives into more situations. It is an unnecessary arms race. Nicolai Manfredi, Spokesman for the IFS |

Message | To please our colleagues in the Chamber of Deputies, both the Social-Democrats and the Socialists, we let it be known that when the conflict with Barmenia ends all these laws will be reverted to a more pacifying stance. We do however retain our views on a strong standing force to protect our nation, we will not disarm our nation but only limit the powers of the military. Signed, Party Chairman of the Imperial Union, His Imperial Highness, the Crown Prince of Vanuku, Johannes van Zuyden tot Banstill |
